The article is quiet about how they harvest the mucus.
Our lives get more and more disgusting. In the EU the peasants are now expected to eat mealworms:

So far, this disgusting "food" has to be labeled, but I would not be surprised if they drop it in the future. Another "conspiratorial" meme (eat ze bugz) has become true.
In Germany today there is a chance to vote against the globalists.

Humans have eaten insects for as long as there have been humans. No one's expected to eat them, they are just approved for eating under food regulations in the EU now. It's highly unlikely they'll ever stop labeling them properly because insects can cause the exact same allergic reaction that shellfish do, given how similar they are to each other.

Fun fact: shellac has been in food for a while, especially those shiny chocolates.

Civilization, first in the form of religions, has established all sort of rules against practices of primitive tribes that were guided by necessity.
We are now throwing overboard humanism and start to make lives worse for the masses while the 1% who live in castles in Tuscany can buy their organic food locally.

I do not mind harvesting if it consensual, or from dead body.
But there is a cosmetic treatment that takes stem cells from new borns foreskin. What sort of twisted mind tortures and maims babies, just after birth, so they can look younger!!!

I suppose the "sell powder lobby" on HN does not like this post. Vance's friends must be happy with this EU regulation.
