Why I didn't attend PyCon Australia 2024

I have to say that this person has no idea what Orwellian means.

I had to stop reading after hitting a limit of "professional offense takers". If you have a point you could make it better but all the longwinded name calling makes it read like a mildly unhinged screed.

If you want some unsolicited advice, I get put off by calling non-government things "totalitarian" or other scare words. Private groups doing things you don't like can be bad but don't water down a very important concept of government overreach just to try to get a rise from (or mislead?) readers.
