The HN submission title ("Apple killed Asahi Linux with M4 update") seems highly misleading; the linked post, by an Asahi developer, indicates only that the update poses new challenges, not that those challenges are insurmountable or that they don't expect to solve them.

The title suggests Apple did this intentionally, is there any proof for that?

It isn't even Linux that has been "killed", the method used to reverse engineer calls to the hardware from the native macOS kernel no longer works.
