I've tried this and the temptation to remove the block is too much. I think a better way would be to deal with the underlying reasons why we get distracted in the first place.

I like selfcontrolapp.com , been using it for a long time. There's no (straightforward) way to remove the block with this one, and it works on all the browsers.

Hey, I wrote something like that a few weeks ago: https://github.com/Yoric/keep-it-focused . Big difference is that mine is a daemon that serves rules to the browser, which makes it harder to use, but usable CLI parental control.
I find it rather useful :)
