The deportations clearly hurt at a human level. But surely they will hurt other Americans, just as with Brexit.

Brexit, afaik, didn't lead to a particular wave of deportations, however many EU expats decided to go back. This is visible not just in statistics, but also at all levels of services: from waiters to doctors to carers, everywhere there's a shortage of employees. Wages are going up (nice) except business can't offset these with higher prices and are struggling. The people hired now tend to be British and the reason they were substituted with EU workers in the first place is that they were better or cheaper.

From an end user perspective, the things that used to be staffed by foreigners became less good and more expensive.

At least some are getting active, as opposed to us keyboard warriors complaining but not doing anything.
